Learning to Increase Blog Traffic
I was blog hopping these last few days trying to learn some new ropes on generating traffic. The posts that I've read stated the same strategies, such as:
- Visit other blogs, and leave comments
- Join traffic exchanges
- Get back links
- Buy ad spaces using Adgitize, Bidvertise, or others
- Submit your blog to search engines and website directories
Then I found this article: 21 Tips to Increase Blog Traffic, and realized how much all of these tasks ate up my time. Reading and understanding what one has to do, consume the whole morning.
We all blog because we have something to share, and we enjoy writing in our own spaces. However, the majority of us also hope to make some money while doing what we love. Well, maybe making enough money to pay for the electricity we used to blog.
In the article mentioned above, the author has listed links to many other articles that are very helpful to each category that he has outlined.
If you are serious about blogging, and making money, you must always learn what you can to improve your blog.

thanks for the very valuable information Icy, I may really a blogging deficient, since i went to 21 steps in your link and only tip # 1 is what i can understand so well, the rest, i really have hard time understanding. oh, i will try them though, i would like to learn as much for our group site and also mine, also, it is kind of motivating if we earn a little bit from what we love doing, but it would be best if we earn more :)

Earning money is a big plus. Icy, we know we would write no matter what, but it would be nice to earn enough to keep the lights on. lol
Yes it would be nice to blog AND make some money. But sometimes it seems to take too much effort to learn all there is to do to even start.
I like my pocket money from blogging :)

I just like to ramble on about things in my life that I find interesting, and hope that a few other people around the world might find them interesting too.
It's taken me a while to build up traffic on my blogs, but with time I have figured out what works for me. Great post!

It would be great if we could do the writing and someone else could concentrate on the promotion. Wouldn't that be perfect?
