Chasing Butterfly
I don't know if this is a moth or a butterfly. Some say it is a moth, but I think it is just as beautiful as a butterfly when it opened its wing to show the designs!
There were so many of these brown butterflies on that day, and they were attracted to this blue swimming pool. I couldn't decide which one to take picture, so I snapped one, and then went to the next.
I think it was mating time for these butterflies because after a little rest, they took their business up in the air, several repeated moments, and finally came down for another rest.

These beautiful brown butterflies are no longer in my yard since the weather is cooler now. Our summer is coming to a close, which I am not ready, but there is nothing I can do about it.

Such a sweet and beautiful creature... a lovely soul..thanks for sharing this little winged treasure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures Icy, don't you just love the face on these little guys.
ReplyDeleteYour little friend is a Skipper, they have characteristics of both the butterfly and moth. Notice the way he holds his wings at rest, that is one way to spot a Skipper.
I like the Moth shots against the blue - looks like they might have been having a spa day!
ReplyDeleteAren't they moths? I wrote an article about the differences. Should I go look it up? :-)
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the skipper. I photographed one a couple of weeks ago and looked it up.
ReplyDeleteI've been really drawn to mothy butterflies, lately, too! So beautiful and wistful and Septembery.
ReplyDeleteThese are clear, lovely photos!

Your mosaic is wonderful, I just love how the blue is so vibrant behind the butterfly.
