Chicory Stands Strong
Although the weather is more on the colder side these last few weeks, the chicory that grew wild around my house are still blooming, and beautiful.
The heart of this chicory is blue when the cloud covered the sun. I'm still amazed at its beauty and admired its strong character. After the grass was mowed, the chicory came right back if the weather warmed up.
Chicory has many medicinal benefits, and one that Judy Sheldon has spending lots of time researching. If you are into herbal remedies, read her article here.

I've never seen chicory in bloom. How lovely! And you are blessed to have those blossoms at your home. Is there anything better than chicory coffee from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans? I can smell it now! I guess anything from a plant that pretty has got to be good!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday...

Sheila :-)
