Blue Monday

We went to Blockbuster to pick out a movie, and I caught my son with this pose! Which one of these movies, he seemed wanting to know, and your guess maybe the right one!  Did you guess it?

Ruby Tuesday

This rack was also found at Blockbuster, and it offers four different flavors of popcorn! What worked out for me was that they were all in red color!

Watery Wednesday

The water looked calm, and the tree were bare with leaves.  Yes, it is cold out there!  We are in the 20-30 degrees weather now, and when the wind kicked up, it was freezing!

Color Carnival Thursday

I saw this gigantic lollipop with a rainbow colors in them, and right away I thought of color carnival meme. I just have to keep my eyes out for this subject.

Macro Friday

African violet is one of my favorite indoor houseplant, since the condition in our house seemed to be perfect for it.  They already bloomed once for me and continued to grow.

Pink Saturday

Flowers are just so beautiful these days, and to see them, I have to either go the Conservatory, or sneak a few pictures at the grocery stores.

Scenic Sunday

These beautiful colors of the sunrise was taken at 7:30 in the morning.  I was zooming in for the sky, but the branch of this crab apple tree was caught and became the focal point, which turned out perfect.

Getting Ready For a Ski Trip

With the weather getting colder, hats, mittens, scarves, and coats are a must to survive outdoor.  My daughter is planning a snowboard trip to Colorado to meet up with her childhood friend over Christmas vacation, and frantically looking for waterproof but breathable coat to keep her warm.

She has found snow boots, snow pant, and thermal socks.  Watching her getting excited, I can't help but feeling jealous with her energy and carefree life.  Since the coat she wants is on the expensive side, her brothers, her aunt, her uncles, her cousins, and I decide to go in together for her Christmas gift.

There are eight of us so we also agree on an inside vest, which my daughter could wear when she would take a break from skiing.  These two items are a perfect match for each other, but the vest is something she could put to use many times, including spring and fall.

Two of her best friends/co-workers also got her a wind breaker jacket, and she is so ready to go.  It is wonderful that after ten years, my daughter and her friend got re-connected. I guess they have Facebook to thank for since it is really a wonderful addition in this modern time.

All In One

I have not been very active with this blog lately, and for that I apologize to all my readers, followers, and subscribers.

You will forgive me I'm sure, after you hear this confession:  I am burn out from blogging! Yes, you've heard it right!  Many of you know that I manage four blogs altogether, and it took me literally two to three days straight to just returning comments.  Therefore, I needed to make a choice to sacrifice something in order to keep my blood pressure normal.

In short, I've decided to just post whenever I can.  Without further ado, here is my post for the week.

I saw these beautiful little blue flowers at Belle Isle Conservatory, but couldn't get up close to it since it was set way in the back. However, it will be my entry for Blue Monday!

This red mauna loa is also known as peace lily, and they were huge in size at the Conservatory. This plant is used to remove toxins inside  the home, and is my entry for Ruby Tuesday!

The drive to Belle Isle was quite daunting, but after 2-3 days of just drooping, I decided to renew my spirit by just visiting nature.  This one is linked to Watery Wednesday!

This was my burgundy marigold, which I grew in pots, and to my surprise they were still blooming profusely in this chilly weather.  I love macro, so this is for Macro Friday!

There wasn't many places that I could go around here besides Belle Isle, so I took a trip to see beautiful nature before the snow set in.  This gorgeous duck was just floating right by.  This photo is for Camera Critters!

Finally, this was the scene at Belle Isle Conservatory.  Mums of different colors were on display at this time of the year, and this is for Scenic Sunday!

Book Club Magic

I met Kim at a book club. Neither of us had been before, and we were both unsure of the group. A friend had recommended it to me, but didn't know much about the books they read.

Ten minutes in, I was desperate to leave. It wasn't the fun sort of book club, instead they were reading the type of books I always think English Lit grad students read: old, dull, thick. Across the circle of chairs I saw a head nodding. At first I thought it was nodding in agreement. Then I realized the woman wasn't agreeing, she was trying to stay awake!

When the group finally took a break, the other woman, Kim, and I made our escape. We weren't ready to go home yet, for her it was adult time away from the kids, for me an attempt to meet new people. A coffee shop, we decided.

Kim and I must have talked for two hours that afternoon. Finally we both had to go. We decided, though, to meet regularly at that same coffee shop and discuss books we actually like. I live nearby, but not in the best neighborhood, so I always set my home security alarm (Adt security specials California) before heading out. If our "meetings" run too late, she gives me a ride home. It works out great for both of us.
