Delicious Snow

I think this black squirrel is hungry, because after a while of running around, he picks up a pile of snow and starts to eat it. He reminds me of the children who often seem to have the same behavior.

There is nothing on the ground, or anywhere during the winter, so maybe the snow provides the fluid that this black squirrel needs.  They don't hibernate like other animals, but rather very aggressively looking for place to nest, and things to eat.

  3. I don't think I've ever seen a black squirrel, just brown ones and white ones.

  4. The squirrels we have here do not go hungry in the winter. I do not know how they do it, but when they bury an acorn or nut, go right back to it. My yard is full of holes.

  17. Aw, he is a cute little fellow. Maybe there is something inside the clump of snow or he just needs water. Nice shots Icy.
