Picking Up and Moving On

I am back working in this blog as I am having such a bad turmoil with WanderingThought.com. It looks as if I am forced to let it goes; so be it!

After a month of exchanging emails with Google support/Google wallet, and expensive phone calls; I am done fighting! It's just a losing battle and it will cost me more than I am anticipated.

I'm beaten and defeated! Not through my own choosing, but just circumstances!

I am setting out to clean up this blog, and somehow transfer some of my posts from Wandering Thought over. I still have roughly 30 days left before Wandering Thought goes into the abyss!

Here are my questions:

1) What is your thoughts on having a domain name for your blog?

2) Would you buy a domain name for your blog?

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that, Icy. I've had some experience with Google and once they make up their minds, they seem unable and unwilling to change it. No matter what you say, it doesn't seem to make a difference. What's the matter with your domain name?

I've bought domain names for my blogs.

    1. Hi Anne,
The domain WanderingThought.com was expired on Aug. 09th, 2013, but Google gave me 60 days grace period. For some reason my renewal couldn't go through for WT, but it went through for Beyond Zephyr and Beyond Wandering in on August 05th, 2013.

      It's such a horrid mess...

  2. oh sorry about that Icy, hope you get to move your posts and not lose any of them. but i think it will be there, but it will revert to .blogspot.com since that is what happened to our salitype before, we had salitypesociety.com, but then, it expired without us knowing it and we could not renew it, so it went back to .blogspot, then, we bought another domain and have it salitypesociety.org as the new domain with all our posts kept, we just had to inform all the blogging companies we are working with with the new domain, thankfully, they all understood.

    1. Hi Betchai,
As of now, I'm still emailing back and forth with Google support but now a new problem emerged. They suggested me to go directly to GoDaddy, and GoDaddy wanted around $100 to register the domain. I don't think it's worth the trouble and I am so ready to put this mess behind me.
      Thank you for your support!!!

  3. Don't even talk to me about techno trouble shooting!!!! I have just spent the past 8 days trying to rescue my email account from hackers. Two different companies wanted me to pay $300 for them to TRY to fix the problem and then "protect me for life"... RIGHT! This whole internet realm is another world, where I am the alien and don't fit in. I hope you can resolve your issues and have a happy ending. My plan is to keep a low profile and follow the rules. Maybe I'll be okay for another two years.

    1. Hi Rosemary,
Yikes, $300? I hope you can resolve this problem too, without paying an arm and a leg.
I visited your blog, but you use Google+ so I can't comment. I don't know much about Google+ and at this point in my life, I don't want another mess.
      Thank you for stopping by!

  4. I have thought about it and maybe I will do it, but not just yet. I'm sorry to hear you had troubles with your other blog. Can you not do a transfer of all posts? I know you can do a backup and then I've been told you can upload the posts to a new blog. Of course, I'm totally ignorant on this and you may find someone out there who can help you do just that. Anywho, best of luck to you!

    1. Hi Cathy,
I can save all of my posts and have them on another blog..
Any help from the professional will cost me an arm and a leg..

You can read my thought from the linky that I just joined you. If the domain name isn't that important, then keep your blog the way it's.
