Last Day of the Year 2008

I was away from home for these last 10 days, enjoying the mild weather of California, and soaking in the sun as much as I can with my family.

Though I have scheduled for my posts to publish, I could not get to them while at different houses every day to check for comments, (not that I have many); therefore, I am working on catching up for today!

Christmas came and went by so fast! Another year is about to end, so I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support, encouraging, and visiting my blog.

Stop Your Whining and Start Working

I am a long time reader/writer at Triond, Associated Content, Helium, Constant Content, and many other websites. I read a variety of articles, poems, viewing pictures and also videos. I have not come across a website that has so many whiners as Triond has!

If You Are a Writer, Are You Also a Con-Artist?

What is a con-artist? Upon looking for synonyms of the word, this is what it means: fraud, pretender, fake, impostor, counterfeit, swindler, and quack!

After my article “How to Drive More Traffic to Your Article” was published, a Triond user sent a message to my inbox calling me “an excellent con-artist!” At first, it upsets me, so I contacted Nelson Doyle, a writer with an expertise on marketing issues, and with his advice, I took that assault in a new way.

We Are All Fascinating People

Barbara Walter usually hosts the 10 most fascinating people as the year coming to an end, and these people are the rich, the famous, and the high-power! Now, ask these questions:

  • Why are they fascinating?
  • If they are not rich, famous, run in political champagne, would they be fascinating?
  • Would we know who they are?
  • What is so fascinating about them?
  • How is it fascinating?

Movie to Watch: Cinderella Man

My oldest son introduced me to this movie last year, and I have since watched it three more times. It is a beautiful story, and is also fitting now with our economy as we are in a recession!

Without revealing too much, this story is about a family trying to go through the hardest time in their life. They try to hold their family together, and keep the children fed!

Helping Your Digestive System Naturally

We all occasionally suffer from heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and stomach cramp or pain. Some people have a more severe problem than others. Do you know that The American Gastroenterological Association stated that nearly 30% of Americans have gastrointestinal illness a year?

I am a part of this 30%! I suffer terrible acid reflux, so much so that I can't consume any oranges, orange juice, coffee, soda, and a whole lot more! I dislike taking pills, so I find different alternatives to deal with this problem.

Pay Attention to How You Surf the Web Can Actually Help

Upon paying closer attention to my habits when surfing the internet, I have some questions to ask below.
  • How long do you stay on a certain site?
  • Do you actually read the content? Or are you scanning it through?
  • What irritates you?
  • How do you feel when you first arrive on a web page?
  • What are your first impressions of the site?
  • Do you browse through the website if you like it?
  • Do you wait around for the page to load or you click on to a different one?
  • Do you prefer long post or short post?

Let's Give Thanks

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and many people are busy preparing for family gathering. Personally, I think it is one of best holidays to celebrate. It also has deeper meaning, less stress, and no pressure.

Thanksgiving is time for reflection, appreciation, and togetherness. The season comes with beautiful colors of nature, and abundance harvests. While we are anticipating for the Thanksgiving feast, there are many people who could not be with their families, and these people are our soldiers.

Dot Com vs. Blogspot

Before starting this blog, I read, and read, and read on everything about blogging. I found some very inspiring posts, followed their journey, and watched them achieved their dreams.

Hence, the force of "just do it" was behind my motivation! So what if I do it and fail? So what if I never see my dream soars? Those doubtful thoughts can't even hold me back from having my own blog.

Taking a Bite Out of a Bully

"Adult bullies target their victims in many of the same way children who bully do. While many people think that bullying only occurs amongst children, it can also happen in the workplace among adults."

The quote above is directly from Stop a Bully-Characteristics of Adult Bully Targets. It is what I have been experiencing these last two months, when my little boy and I became victims to a neighbor bully.

Wishful Thinking!

The first line in this video had a special meaning to me, because that was how I used to think. I didn't want to be a girl, female, or women as each stage reached my life.

How I Work At Home Without Going Insane

I've been working at home for the past two years. I write. I babysit. I translate paperwork. I pay bills. I take care of my kids. I cook. I clean. I do the many things that others don't. I say this because I'm a single mom, which means I have double duties. That's all!

However, many people think that since I work at home, I have all the time in the world, and that I don't have anything to do. Remarks such as: "What do you do all day at home? Aren't you bored? Since you don't have to go to work, can you do this or can you do me a favor?" are all very familiar to me.

Reach for Life Balance

Stacey, at Create a Balance, called for a group writing project on Life Balance, which is a great idea, and has my head spinning these last few days.

I have always tried to find ways to balance my life, whether it is work, home, or my own responsibilities. We all have so many roles to fill, from being a parent, a daughter/son, a sister/brother, a friend, to being an employee.

Each role we play has its own hiccups. We learn to weave out the good and the bad, and then some how try to find balance in order for us to be able to live with.

Movie to Watch: "Pay It Forward"

This movie is one of my all time favorite! Every since I saw it, I'm moved, with emotions, and with tears! Heck, it doesn't take much for me to be in tears. I even have tears when I watch Homeward Bound.

If the movie is based on emotions, I will be curling into a ball. Pay It Forward grabbed me in a different level. It teaches me to be kind, generous, and try to make the world a better place to live in, for everyone.

Where Are You at in Your Relationship?

I'm a failure in relationship-intimate relationship, to be more specific-and no, it is not self-doubt, or negative thought. I face it as it is! Honest! Truthful! Realistically!

After all, I've only experienced one relationship in my life, and that was with the X for over 20 years! Even now, I don't know how to label that relationship either. Was it love? Was it dependency? Was it really a relationship? What was it?

Long Post or Short Post?

So now that I have covered two topics: "Friends" and "Identity", I'd like to share what I think about the length of the post.

We all have preference in what we want to read, and how long we want to stick around on a certain page. Speaking from my personal view, I am very impatience in the "waiting" area, something that I should work on, really!

Boost Your Brain Power!

Recently, I feel like I've lost my mind. I can't remember anything. I'd like to put the blame on my chaotic life, and stress. However, that is just an easy way out. I need to take charge of my problem.

The problem began when I left my cellphone out in the rain, and there after, I left it at a restaurant. You must know that I am careful person. My habit is to look around the area before I leave. For some reasons though, this process lately skips me completely!

In search for help, I found this article: "Ignite Your Brain Power with the 20 Smartest Food on Earth" on ecosalon website.

Should We Have the Same Identity for All?

In my post last week, "To Add or Not to Add?" I mentioned the art of adding friends, (0r not), on social bookmarking sites. It is still a puzzle to me of why I should add a fan to my friend list, and why I shouldn't add.

Through live and learn I know what is best for me, and what I like to do on those sites. Now, I will only add friends if I see my friend are supportive to me, as I am to them! It is a two-way street, always! However, I will remove a friend if he/she keeps on sending pages to me, without even bothers to look at my page once!

Positive Energy: It Takes Time to Change

I often don't pay attention to how my inner self talks to me, and if I focus on this conversation, it mostly reveals itself as doubts, negative thoughts, or fear. It is a mirror of my life!

To get over self-doubts, and thoughts, I read "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, lots of repeated practices, and tune in to what my mind is talking at all moment.

The Power of Positive Thinking: Truth or Myth?

This is an interest article, and discussed about the truth or myth of positive thinking. It is a great read for me to sort out my own belief. Personally, I prefer to think in an upbeat way rather than constant negative talk., whether it is true or not.

To Add or Not to Add?

In an effort to understand how social bookmarking sites work, I read blogs after blogs, articles after articles, and I still don't have a clue! One person said this is good to do; while others advice against it.

I have questions upon questions, and can't seem to find the answers for them. One thing though, I find many great resources and beautiful pictures on StumbleUpon and Digg.

Hat off to Magicians

I've recently read "Realizing Your Are a Magician Can Create Magic in Your Life" on Pun Intended, and the "Wow" factor hit me, literally!

(Update-the post I've mentioned above is no longer there, and the site seemed to be abandoned :-(

What is so great about this post?

It is accurately described the many roles that each and everyone of us have, but not realizing it. We are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, workers, daughters, sons, and many more.

Read the short post above, and be empowered by just that one sentence!

What I Learn from Watching the Olympic

I am like the rest of America, cheering for my home teams in the Olympic 2008. Why not, right? I am patriotic to my country! I get mad when my players were cheated the gold medal, like in the case of the best gymnast-Nastia Liukin-when the scores were tie.
