Exotic Iris

Pretty Iris

Spring is in the air! You can feel it! You can smell it! But Michigan has its own agenda, or I should say Metro Detroit weather is on its own schedule. We had rain for the entire week, and it was pretty cold with strong wind.

Wood Squill and Crocus

These poor Scilla Siberica, commonly known as Wood Squill, didn't get to live long this year. Blooming for only three days, and were buried under the our mid April snow.

The same fate was cast upon this single white crocus. After the snow, this flower was gone. Both of these flowers: the wood squill and the crocus, are grown from bulbs and are perennial flowers.
